Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Blue and Silver – Little Lady, Act 1.

Hello World!

A while back, Akashic Records’ chapters were 2 chapters ahead of editing (now 0), and with Konosuba gone, I decided to start a new side project, Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Blue and Silver.

Volume 1 Cover

The chapters for this series are on the shorter side, but the language used and the translation complexity are much higher (in my opinion) compared to Konosuba and Akashic. As some of you might know, this entire site and my translation as a hobby is just a way for myself to improve my Japanese, so I believe this will serve as better practice for myself.

Note that this series may be confusing for those who are unfamiliar with the Fate Universe. I’ll try to add a FAQ for the series later when I have time.

Also note that this series will only be worked on when the translation of Akashic is ahead of editing, so don’t expect too many releases for this (lol).

Finally, special thanks to Frozen-senpai for helping with the cleanup of the cover!

  1. This translation is already leagues better than the scattered translations you can find elsewhere on the web. Very, VERY Much looking forward to this project being continued!

  2. First of all thank you very much for the project. I would love you to follow it, since the translation of the nrvnqsr forum is confusing and I see that your quality is better … First of all I ask your permission to translate your version into Spanish (Since many people ask me for this Fate but not we have nothing reliable, we wait for your answer cordially).
Would you encourage yourself to follow Apocrypha with its latest volume? It would be fabulous, thank you very much.

    1. Sure! If you have any more questions feel free to email me at re.yun.ns@gmail.com
Also, I don’t have time to work with Fate/Aprocrypha with Akashic being behind most of the time, but I’ll think about it when the time comes. Not a huge fan of Sieg after the anime though.

        1. CannonGerbil (the other TL) decided to start his own website while I was busy reviewing his TL a while back. His quality is good enough but he had already arranged his site by then so I decided to let him use his site, although it somewhat inconvenient for readers

    1. I didn’t know that there existed a translation on that forum, so I just went to check it out.

I read their ACT-1 and all in all I think there’s room for improvement. The quality isn’t bad, but there’s a few mistakes. Most notably, they refer to Camelot (in Arthur’s monologue in the opening) as Jerusalem, which seems to be a common misconception with the word ‘聖都’, which stands for Holy City. The word is generally used in biblical stuff, so a lot of Japanese sites will translate this to Holy City of Jerusalem specifically.

It’s not enough of a mistake to warrant a re-translation of the series, and if the translator wishes for me to stop then I don’t mind, as this project is 2nd to Akashic.

      1. Ah, I’m not sure what he would think of it. Might be best if could post there to ask him. Maybe you can coordinate like Canonrap coordinated with Nanodesu on Apocrypha.

      2. Also, I think that just by being on a blog instead of scattered throughout a forum thread and by including cleaned and translated images and illustrations, yours is already much more reader friendly than theirs.

      3. The other translated parts of protoype on Beast lair are of way, way lower quality than the ACT 1 translation linked above (most of them are incredibly stilted and doesn’t read anything like the original writing at all) and Prototype as a whole hasn’t actually been completely translated in the first place so I doubt anyone would mind if you continued.

  3. Holy, TY SO MUCH. I’ve been waiting for someone to translate this LN for so long.
Really hope you translate this novel completely.
Keep up the good work 🙂
